Getting Started in SAR

For years we participated in Search and Rescue.  We met hundreds of dedicated and passionate men and women who were devoting their every free moment to ensuring that others might live.  We also discovered that the SAR world was full of frustrating politics.

We founded PCC to focus on the area where we are truly strong: training dogs.  There are many excellent individuals who have mastered IC, missing person probabilities, and survival skills.  However, most people doing SAR with their dogs have little real experience training dogs.  Lauren and Roland had spent their lives training various animals for  film-work, obedience, agility, flyball, etc.  We had devoted our lives to understanding animal behavior and improving communications between handlers and animals. It soon became clear that our greatest contribution to SAR was helping to improve the level of performance by various dog/handler teams.
